EVENTS
(early booking is reccomended for events as they are often fully booked!)
Yearly events to look out for are:
'St Valentines' (Feb 14th)
Fantastic and special St Valentines buffet with a selection of Thai and English dishes. (£18.50 per person)
'Song Kran' (April 13th)
Songkran is the Thai New Year festival. Thai people love to celebrate their new year by throwing water at each other, the idea is to cleanse and refresh themselves ready to start the new year.
There will be no water at our party, not a wet party unfortunately!
Just a good feast for celebrations from the four regions of Thailand.
The Tudor will celebrate our Thai New Year on 13th April 2011 with a Thai buffet,
@£18.50 per person. Booking in advance is essential.
'Loi Gra Tong' (11th November)
Floating candle festival, held in late November on the night of the full moon. You are invited for an evening of celebration involving a feast, Thai dancing, and floating candles on the pond.
One of the most beautiful of Thai festivals. On the night of the full moon and high tide, thousands of handmade rafts carrying lighted candles are set adrift on rivers, canals, ponds and even bath tubs.
This festival is dedicated to Mai Kongha, goddess of the waterways, but it is also romantically associated with the story of a princess who, as the evenings fell, would send little boats with lighted candles across the river to her lover. Many also beleive that you are floating your sins away, the water cleanses them and you are free to make a fresh start.
'Christmas Day' (December)
Traditional English food and Thai fusion buffet served on Christmas Day. From 12:30 pm (£35 per person. £10 per person deposit required in advance). Please see the Christmas menu on the menu page for details of dishes.
